"Anyone can make the simple complicated. True creativity is making the complicated simple.” – Charles Mingus
There are no coincidences in our lives. Cause and effect is your greatest barrier to creating abundance in your life. It may seem a harsh reality, but it's you, or more correctly, the ‘puppet ego’ that acts as you that can hold you back from your greatest achievements – but that's a deeper discussion for another day. Today, l want to share my six tips to accessible abundance.
1. Come to terms with truth
The truth is, most of us are simply unaware we have a choice. We think life and all its challenges is ‘our lot’, or our reality. I ask you to think deeply just now, regardless if you have any spiritual belief or not, Do you think you were born to suffer? It may sound like a silly question because just about everyone replies, “No”. If that's so, then why do you still suffer?
I have to ask another question of you. Are you aware that there is no reality other than the one your mind creates? Okay, let's step back from the metaphysical edge a little. Everyone sees a slightly different personal reality. I think we can agree the guy with the thick wallet and Porsche has a different perception of reality to you. His reality is unique to him but not the same as yours. So, If your mind creates its unique brand of reality, then deep inside of you is a locked door behind which you keep your suffering or lack. You simply need to find the key to open the door and banish your subconscious desire to suffer.
2. Let go of your preconceived identity
For most of us, it’s not easy to fully let go of who you have been trained to think you are. Like every addiction, letting go of your preconceived identity requires a daily chore of abstinence. Your locked room is full of addictions that crave attention. This attention is found by seeking drama. Have you noticed that the people with the most stress are lost in drama filled lives and have no understanding of who they are? If you are longing to be someone else, this could be a clue that you're living someone else's version of your life.
3. Shift from an objective to subjective viewpoint
“It’s all about me” is a subjective viewpoint. Of course, how could it not be all about me, me, me? What if abundance was about thinking collectively as ‘us’ and viewing life as an objective reality?
Abundance is having complete and emotional wealth. It is a value that each of us will view differently. Many will think it's a lotto win but we seek wealth subjectively, selecting what our ego considers to be wealth and often repulsing it.
For most, abundance is family and close emotional connections with warm fuzzy feelings. For some it's a fat wallet, cool cat car, Raybans and $1000 sneakers. For others, it's being able to walk a straight line without pain. However, spiritual abundance is simply waking up each day and being grateful for what ever turns up.
Lets focus some points, I understand this may all be a foggy subject at the moment but let a cool wind blow the fog away. Meditation is such a cool breeze, so is gratitude. How can we lay bare the core of abundance in this swamp of subjectivity?
4. Find the path to an objective reality
Walking the objective path leads to a scented garden where the sun is mild, the days are calm and life is full of connection. There is no drama in this place; drama will only act as a herbicide here! Best to tread slowly until stress dissipates.
Objective reality is made of core building blocks. Practice using these each day until you find your footing:
Lets repeat that: the value you secretly hold for yourself is dynamically connected to the value that returns to you. If you seek money but never have any it's because in some way money is repulsive to you. As I say, wealth is not money but it's the place that most start to seek abundance.
5. Unlearn old habits
Your task is to unlearn habits so personal they have become your skin. This involves beyond taking a good hard look into the mirror of self and not being afraid to bruise your ego!
The concept of ‘cause and effect’ is a mind game and potential game changer. If you're at the effect end, or the harsh end of the stick, then who's at the cause end of the stick? Meditate on this thought if you will realise it’s your ego that is the cause producing the effect. Only you can change that. But, it doesn’t stop there, because your causal effect creates a storm around you that has influence on all things. Remember, if we are all connected then the storm affects anything within its range. For instance, the cause and effect of your childhood environment created the storm in you and you choose to perpetuate the effect because it has become a source of attention seeking. Ouch!
6. Take personal responsibility for your life
Respect the cause and effect already at play in your life, but become the witness of these established patterns.
Abundance is not an exclusive secret. It's not carefully kept hidden; it’s bare for all to see if only you could look away from your personal train wreck for a moment! Imagine you were conditioned by affluent parents to believe you're the ruling class and that training involved going to the kind of education facilities that reinforced that view. Perhaps then abundance would not be the same problem; you could say their problems are of a higher quality. Higher quality problems are still about lack but not of money or food. These problems are about connection and about soul. Same issue, different storyline.
Deep thoughts have been arisen within you today. Let’s leave this brain-storm puzzle with one last twist. If you are following these six steps, it's very possible that you already live in a state of abundance now. It's very possible that until today you didn’t realise abundance was so close because it is a state of mind, a state of gratitude.
Previously, I asked if you felt you were living someone else's life and not your own. I have another question for you. If you could live on an island with your loved ones in a village of thatched huts with all the fish, fruit and natural resources for healthy living and sun shining on turquoise water each day, would you swap lives?
Some would say, “Yes!” But, some on the island would feel their lives were lacking because the ‘TV shows’ of their lives are more appealing, and yes, subjective. Reality can be a bitch! The point is, consider your life as a blessing and abundance will turn up.
The secret to live, love and realise wealth is applied knowledge
From our human point of view one has to separate oneself from what you think you know and realise what you don't know is immensely more valuable.
Value your life it may be the only one you get.
